About Chris

It all began with an out of focus rabbit! Chris Heaney’s love affair with the camera was triggered when his mother, a keen amateur photographer, allowed her young son to borrow her treasured SLR camera for a quick snap. Chris was hooked. That passion developed through his teenage years before he left Belfast to study Visual Communications, specialising in photography, at the Glasgow School of Art.

Today, the multi-award-winning photographer is in demand throughout Ireland, the UK and further afield, whether it’s commercial work for advertising agencies and leading companies or gallery exhibitions. From his Belfast city centre studio, Chris works for numerous clients in many different sectors, including arts, tourism, hospitality, food and drink, manufacturing, construction and finance.

Working alongside clients, or with advertising agencies, Chris is often involved from the initial concept to the delivery of the final image. His acclaimed work has appeared in many high-profile advertising campaigns as well as national newspapers and magazines. Chris has also exhibited fine art work in the United States, the Middle East, the UK and Ireland. Recently, his love of photography has extended to the moving image. Through his company, North Harbour Productions, his dedicated team have created several major television advertisements and an extensive body of online content for prestigious local and international clients.
